I have completed Level 1 and Level 2 training in Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS) and use this approach with all of my patients as I find it to be the most powerful and effective at bringing long-lasting change. I have been working as a therapist (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) for almost 25 years. I have experience in working with people in large cities, suburbs, and small towns. My work experience has taken me through school settings, psychiatric hospitals, day treatment facilities, outpatient clinics, foster care, and even some dual diagnosis work. I feel I have gained a comprehensive understanding of many areas. I have worked with multicultural patients, the LGBTQ+ community, and people of varying faiths. I have always worked with adults but spent much of my career focused on children, adolescents, and families. At this time, I am focusing on working with women in life-transitions (i.e. moving, becoming a parent, career change, retirement, peri-menopause, etc.) while continuing to work with all adults. I have helped and continue to help people move past personal obstacles, develop self-insight, and create a more balanced and harmonious self.
I believe that creativity is a core trait of everyone and manifests itself in a multitude of ways. I, myself, used to dance but find in present day, my creativity comes through in my work, my problem-solving, and my love of DIY and interior decorating. I have added the Artist’s Way non-therapy approach to my repertoire because it is a powerful format to use for self-reflection. Also, it is a powerful way to propel one towards their true purpose.
